Tioga Pass closed last Saturday night in anticipation of the storm that hit this area over the weekend, and remains closed due to large boulders that fell onto the roadway during the storm.

Caltrans is working to remove the rocks and reopen the road as soon as possible, but for now it is closed at the lower gate, three miles west of Highway 395.
Will the Tioga pass be closed between 11th Nov to 13th Nov 2016? If yes, is there any other routes to visit Mono lake from the Bay Area? Thank you.
Hi Shraddha, there’s no way to know. If the weather has been clear, Tioga Pass will probably be open. If there has been a snowstorm, the pass will probably be closed. If Tioga Pass is closed, it might be possible to take Highway 108, Highways 88 & 89, or Highway 50 to get over the Sierra Nevada to Mono Lake. Enter the road number into this road conditions page to see if the passes are still open.
