Studying poetry with Gary Snyder, Norman Schaefer’s poetry takes us from outdoor rambles to the inner-most thoughts of a Sierra climber. Schaefer’s peaceful yet straightforward poetic voice stirs the sense of adventure in all of us.

Doug Robinson’s list of accomplishments as one of the original Yosemite Valley climbers and a Sierra mountaineer is impressive. Even more impressive is his ability to write about his experiences. Robinson will read excerpts from his upcoming book The Alchemy of Action, chronicling why we take the outdoor risks that we do.

Light refreshments will be served.
