Mono Lake Moment: Cross-country skiing in Lee Vining Canyon

Today’s Mono Lake Moment is by ski! After a whopping four feet of snow came down in Lee Vining last week, the urge to get outside and play in it was undeniable. After a day or two of high temps in the 40s, the once fluffy fresh snow sunk down and melted into slightly sloppy sno-cone domes protruding out of a soft serve flat base. It makes for more challenging cross-country skiing because you sink in quite a bit and it’s too soft to glide easily through, but it is lovely to be out in it all the same!
