Mono Basin Scenic Area Visitor Center repairs underway

The Mono Basin Scenic Area Visitor Center will remain open while construction crews of various sorts work on everything from fixing the concrete patio and parking lot to installing new energy-efficient windows. The much-needed repairs are made possible by a Recovery Act grant.

The reconstruction is expected to last at least 7 weeks, however the Visitor Center staff have planned the repairs so that visitors can continue to use the center with as little disruption as possible.

Additional projects include fixing the roof where leaks are causing internal damage, fixing some of the stone walls and curbs, and installing solar panels.
