It’s summertime in the Mono Basin and for the interns at the Mono Lake Committee that means canoe tours out on the lake! Last weekend, we had our first tours and with excited guests and no wind—they could not have gone better.

Every Saturday and Sunday the Mono Lake Committee guides groups out on Mono Lake for a relaxing paddle and an interesting tour focused on the political and natural history of the area. As we glide past the incredible tufa formations, we have a close-up view of California Gulls, brine shrimp, and even an Osprey nest. It’s a great way to explore and learn about Mono Lake so if you’re interested in coming out on the water, sign up for a canoe tour and we’ll see you soon!
