Guess what it’s doing here today? SNOWING!!

With all the talk about drought in California and the West, and with the recent conclusion of the driest calendar year in the Sierra Nevada, these puffy white flakes falling from the sky couldn’t be more welcome. I took the following photos at 9:00 this morning, but since then the snow just keeps stacking up steadily! We have ten inches on the ground now at 10:45am.

This winter, it’s a good day when we have to shovel the deck and sidewalk at the Mono Lake Committee at all. Today we’ve had to shovel twice already … it’s a GREAT day.

Lovely! Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow…
Thank God for little favors!
I was out there just 2 weeks ago visiting the mono Lake area and it was soooo dry. Really nice to see snow on the ground in the Mono basin again. Hope more will come soon.
Beautiful!!
