Holiday shopping: Mono Lake Committee logo gear

This post was written by Terry McLaughlin, 2012 Outdoor Experiences Lead Instructor, 2014 & 2015 Interim Information Center & Bookstore Manager, and 2015–2017 Membership Assistant.

The Mono Lake Committee offers fun, stylish and tasteful logo gear that I enjoy giving to friends and family and wearing myself.

Some of my favorite clothing items are the super-soft baseball shirts or racer-back tanks that declare “Mono Lake is worth saving.” Sometimes I’m looking for a more subtle approach, so I don a popular trucker hat or a wide-brimmed bucket hat with the Mono Lake Committee logo. Or, better yet, I make my own Mono Lake gear by attaching the Mono Lake patch to my backpack, shirt sleeves, and my favorite birding vest.

I love the size of the giant coffee mug. It reminds me “Long Live Mono Lake” every day as I sip my morning beverage.

The 2014 Mono Lake calendar is filled with images, large and small, of the Mono Basin. I give lots of these as inexpensive presents over the holidays. There is always one hanging on my own wall as a daily reminder of the natural beauty of Mono Lake.
