As Committee intern, Julie, mentioned in her post a few weeks ago, our interpretive schedule is changing to adjust for the fall season.
From now until September 29 there will still be weekly Stars Over Mono talks on Mondays at 7:30pm and guided South Tufa tours on Saturdays and Sundays at 1:00pm, both meeting at the South Tufa kiosk. With these talks, you can learn about Mono Lake during the day or gaze up at the stars by night! Just make sure to bring sun protection for the South Tufa tour and warm clothes for the star talk.
There will also be weekly patio talks at the Mono Basin Scenic Area Visitor Center on Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00pm. Hear the talk on the back patio with an amazing view of Mono Lake and then head inside to learn more.
While the interpretive schedule has been cut back for the beginning of fall, it’s still a wonderful time to visit the Mono Basin! Just make sure to plan ahead so you can attend any interpretive talks you’re interested in.
