Have you visited Lee Vining lately? If so, you may have noticed construction equipment and torn up roads. In addition to the Digital 395 installation that is happening in Lee Vining, the Mono County Department of Public Works is rehabilitating the streets of Lee Vining from now through early August of this year. According to the Department of Public Works, “the project consists of demolition of existing concrete and asphalt and full reconstruction of local streets in Lee Vining, with new concrete sidewalks in some areas.” This work will occur between 7:00am and 7:00pm, Monday through Saturday.

If you are planning on visiting in the near future you may see “Road Closed” signs on some of the roads in Lee Vining. However, there are other roads or detours that can take you to your destination, and the town of Lee Vining is open as usual for the summer season. The Mono Lake Committee will be open from 9:00am to 5:00pm through May 23, and from 8:00am to 6:00pm for the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. So make sure to include Lee Vining in your next visit to the Eastern Sierra, and check out our local businesses while you are here!
