For those of you in the Sacramento area, a treat is coming your way on Friday, November 13 from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm. That evening, the Viewpoint Photographic Art Center will be opening a new photographic exhibit by artist Robert Glenn Ketchum. The new show, titled “Southwest Alaska and Bristol Bay: A World of Parks and Wildlife Refuges at the Crossroads,” will be on display until December 5, so be sure not to miss the opening event!
Festivities at the downtown Sacramento gallery will include live music, a silent auction, non-profit partner booths, and membership options to the gallery, which is a 501(c)3 organization. You can also bid on items from the Mono Lake Committee! The exhibit opening is part of the First Annual Viewpoint Environmental Art Fair, which is co-sponsored by KVIE public television.
Photography can be an important force for protecting wild places—that was certainly the case with Mono Lake. So treat yourself to an evening in Alaska’s wilderness on November 13!
