1992, shows Sally Gaines, her daughter Vireo
on the left, her son Sage, and their friend Anna
Scofield, now a summer retail assistant for the
bookstore. Sally was one of the co-founders of
the Mono Lake Committee. After David Gaines’
death in 1988, she became the co-chair of the
Committee’s Board of Directors.
