The north shore of Mono Lake is full of lagoons and ponds and flowing springs. California Gulls
and American Avocets are found in and along the lagoons. Mono Lake is likely to rise over
2 feet this summer due to the expected runoff. There is very little snow left below 7,000'.

March and April have been very stormy and cold and have set new precipitation records.
It is rare to have more than 3 sunny days in a row. The storms have been weakening
and the sun is shining more often lately.

Lundy Lake Reservoir is at a minimum level due to maintenance on the dam. It will spill by July.

Large avalanches have been frequent, like these on Gilchrest Peak
above Lundy Lake.

Highway 120 East to Benton is now open, but the trip over Sagehen Summit (8,136') is still very
wintry. Hwy 120 West over Tioga Pass to Yosemite is unlikely to open until the end of June.
