Mono Lake Community

Mono Lake's community of caring citizens has grown exponentially in thirty years, from the handful of undergraduate students who first surveyed its condition to the 16,000 members who now support all aspects of Mono Lake's protection and restoration.

At the Mono Lake Committee, we often get calls from members, friends, and interested folks letting us know about an unusual bird sighting, or sharing with us their favorite Mono Lake memory, or offering to share photos of the lake found in their grandparents' garage.

This part of the website is for exactly that. Here you can read the Mono-logue, which is a collection of Mono Lake happenings posted by Committee staff daily. You can write about that flock of phalaropes, the biggest you've ever seen. If you have photos to share, check out the Mono Lake Flickr group. And you can invite others to join in the community by sending a beautiful Mono Lake eCard!

Welcome to the Mono Lake community. We're glad to have you!
