Well, the osprey fledgling that seemed fine at Gull Lake yesterday was still there at dark with no parents in sight and there were rumors of bears in the campsite it was near so Cindy Kamler of the Eastern Sierra Wildlife Care center instructed me to catch it and take it home. It stayed the night in the Field Station bathroom (thanks Colin and Ben!) and Chris McCreedy and I returned it to a higher perch at the lake this morning. When I checked on it this afternoon, it's head was drooped and it was obviously dehydrated and hungry. I re-captured it and after two days with no food or parents, it is on its way down to the care center in Bishop. Good luck getting healthy, little osprey! Thanks to all who helped.
